Perth connects with Qatar and beyond
2 July 2012
Tourism Council WA have welcomed the inaugural flight of Qatar Airways from Doha, which arrives in Perth tomorrow afternoon.
The airline will deliver three non-stop flights between Doha and Perth each week with a daily service to begin from the 1st December. Qatar Airways will operate their Boeing 777 aircraft which provides 259 seats including 42 Business Class seats on this new route.
Tourism Council WA Chief Executive Officer Evan Hall said “the new service will attract both tourists and business travelers to Perth and beyond.”
“Direct flights from this new Middle Eastern hub will improve access from Europe, Middle East, Africa and America, connecting Perth to more than 110 international destinations” said Mr Hall.
“The new service shows Western Australia’s growing appeal as an international destination. International travelers from Qatar can now connect through Perth Airport with world class WA tourism destinations such as Margaret River and Broome” said Mr Hall.
Tourism Council WA has applauded Perth Airport, Tourism Western Australia and Tourism Australia for securing the Qatar Airways direct flights.
“Qatar Airways only fly into one other Australian city which is Melbourne.”
“These new flights are a major coup for Perth and Western Australian tourism” said Mr Hall.
