Tourists hungry for the Margaret River Gourmet Escape

Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall has welcomed the Government’s announcement of funding over the next three years for the Margaret River Gourmet Escape event.
“Tourists are hungry for food and wine experiences and this world-class event will attract visitors by showcasing the best of Western Australia’s produce” said Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall.
“Food and wine is now a key driver of tourism with WA’s food tourism experiences becoming one of our greatest assets with a range and quality of produce that is second to none” said Mr Hall.
“Events like the Margaret River Gourmet Escape are critical in enticing tourists to explore our extraordinary regional destinations and spend money on accommodation, restaurants and shopping” said Mr Hall.
“The development of great WA home-grown events add to Western Australia’s competitive as a destination and will increase visitation to our extraordinary state” said Mr Hall.
“This is a great use of Government funding as events like the Margaret River Escape can provide a new experience for visitors that will get them back year after year” said Mr Hall.
