Stunning design will make stadium a tourism icon

Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall has applauded the stunning design of the new Perth Stadium and predicts the stadium will become a major tourism attraction and icon for Western Australia.
50,000 sports spectators already visit WA each year, adding more than $60 million to the state economy. Sporting events are a major tourism driver and the industry believes the new Perth stadium will significantly increase international and interstate tourism to WA.
“With such a stunning design, we expect the new Stadium will become a major tourism attraction and state icon” said Mr Hall.
“The Stadium will proudly show off our city when all eyes are on Perth watching major sporting events” said Mr Hall.
“The Stadium design promotes the state and reflects our unique environment” said Mr Hall.
“The Stadium will deliver more events, more seats and more tourist dollars” said Mr Hall.
“Now the design is finalised, we need to build an events calendar to fill the Stadium” said Mr Hall.
“We must book in events at the same time as we build the seats, so the Stadium will be full from the day it opens” said Mr Hall.
“We also need to build affordable quality 3½-4 star hotels to provide affordable accessible accommodation for spectators from regional WA and interstate” said Mr Hall.
