Tourism welcomes new Segway tours

Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall has welcomed the City of Perth’s first Segway tour which were officially launched today by the Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi.

Segway Tours WA, are based on Barrack Street Jetty and offer visitors and locals sightseeing tours along the riverfront in a new fun way.

Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said “developing new tourism product is critical to the growth of the WA industry and it is fantastic to see a new and exciting tourism experience being launched in WA.”

“The WA tourism industry needs to develop new tourism experiences and products to attract and increase both domestic and international visitors” said Mr Hall.

Tourism Council WA have advocated to reduce the regulations that inhibit tourism operations like Segway tours to operate in Western Australia

“It is vital we start to encourage development of tourism assets and attractions in WA by reducing the red tape for tourism operators” said Mr Hall.

“Segway Tours WA have demonstrated a commitment to the delivery of a quality product and experience, by achieving accreditation through the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program and they are a welcome addition to the WA tourism industry” said Mr Hall.
