YOUR ANNUAL BUSINESS CHECK UP
One of the best rewards for all entrants in the Tourism Awards is that your submission serves as an annual business check up. Both established businesses and new and developing businesses utilise the Awards process to develop their business structure and assist with planning for the future. Your submission can also serve as an induction to your business for new staff as it will include all aspects of your operation.
SIR DAVID BRAND AWARD
All gold medallists from category 1 – 25 are in the running to receive the prestigious Sir David Brand Award.
ACCOLADES
All entrant receiving a score of 75% or above are deemed finalist in the Awards.
There will be one gold, silver and bronze medal awarded in categories 1 – 28
There will be one winner for the Sir David Brand Award, Sir David Brand Young Achiever Medal, Sir David Brand Medal and the Golden Guide Award
CERTIFICATES
All winners and medallists will receive a framed certificate recognising their achievement in the WA Tourism Awards.
Winners of the Sir David Brand Award, Sir David Brand Medal and Sir David Brand Young Achiever Medal will receive an Award designed and created by The Perth Mint in addition to their certificate. The Golden Guide winner will receive a framed certificate and pin.
LOGOS AND DECALS
All finalists, winners and medallists will receive a WA Tourism Awards electronic logo. This will be supplied in several formats suitable for use on advertising, media releases, web sites, stationary and other uses. Winners and gold medallists will also receive 2 x decals for placing on their doors or windows. (Only applies to categories 1 – 28 and Sir David Brand Award)
FINALIST ‘S EXTRAORDINARY MARKETING PACKAGE
Tourism WA, together with Tourism Council WA are excited to award all 2013 WA Tourism Award finalists an additional marketing package to help spread the news of your achievement to the world!
The marketing package will showcase finalists as part of a digital and social media campaign which will include the promotion of your business on westernaustralia.com and Tourism Western Australia’s Facebook page.

PROGRESSION TO NATIONAL AWARDS
The gold medallists in categories 1 – 28 will automatically become a finalist in the Australian Tourism Awards, giving them the potential to win the National title for their particular category. This brings high profile, national media and prestige.
HALL OF FAME
When an entrant wins the same category for three consecutive years they will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. A title they will carry for all time.
MEDIA ATTENTION
A list of finalists will appear in the Sunday Times following the announcement at the Finals Fever Function.
All winners and medallists receive an abundance of media attention via The Sunday Times “Escape WA – WA Tourism Awards lift out” which will be published in The Sunday Times on Sunday 10 November 2013.
The winners list is often sought after by media companies when looking for product to feature
In addition to this, winners will be recognised in all State and National media releases, industry newsletters, television, radio and press reports and on the Tourism Council website.
Winners and medallists are also encouraged to be proactive and seek out their own media opportunities using their accolade in the Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards.
