There are lots of reasons as to why you should enter the WA Tourism Awards!
YOUR ANNUAL BUSINESS CHECK UP
One of the best rewards for all entrants in the Tourism Awards is that your submission serves as an annual business check up. Both established businesses and new and developing businesses utilise the Awards process to develop their business structure and assist with planning for the future. It is also a great process for building staff morale and the submission can also serve as an induction to your business for new staff as it will cover all aspects of your operation.
ACCOLADES & MEDIA COVERAGE
Finalists & medallists will receive electronic logos identifying their status as WA Tourism Awards finalists/medallists. These logos can be used on all marketing and promotional materials to signify to your customers and industry your status as a finalist or award winning entrant!
There is also significant media coverage afforded to medallists and winners.
A list of finalists will appear in the Sunday Times following the announcement at the Finals Fever Function.
All winners and medallists receive an abundance of media attention via The Sunday Times “Escape WA – WA Tourism Awards lift out” which will be published in The Sunday Times on Sunday 27st November 2011. The winners list is distributed to all media contacts following the announcement of the winners and is often sought after by media when looking for product to feature.
In addition to this, winners are recognised in State and National media releases, industry newsletters, various media publications and on the Tourism Council website.
Winners and medallists are also encouraged to be proactive and seek out their own media opportunities using their accolade in the WA Tourism Awards as the catalyst.

A finalist will be any entrant that receives a score of 75% or above. There will be one gold, silver and bronze medallist in categories 1 – 26. There will be one winner for the Sir David Brand Award, Sir David Brand Young Achiever, Sir David Brand Medal and the FACET Golden Guide Award.
CERTIFICATES
All winners and medallists receive a framed certificate recognising their achievement in the WA Tourism Awards. These can be displayed in your place of businesses, further reinforcing your status as an Award Winner!
Winners of the Sir David Brand Award, Sir David Brand Medal and Sir David Brand Young Achiever will receive an Award designed and created by The Perth Mint in addition to their certificate. The FACET winner will receive a certificate and pin.
Winners and medallists will also receive 3 x decals for placing on their doors or windows. (Only applies to categories 1 – 26 and Sir David Brand Award)
QANTAS AUSTRALIAN TOURISM AWARDS
Gold medallists in categories 1 – 26 will automatically become a finalist in the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, giving them the chance to go on and win the National title, significantly raising the profile of your business!
HALL OF FAME
When an entrant wins the same category for three consecutive years they will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. A title they will carry for all time.
