New Rottnest Island experiences welcomed by Tourism Council
26 November 2018
Tourism Council WA has welcomed the announcement today of eight new tourism experiences for Rottnest Island, which will attract more visitors to the island and encourage people to stay longer.
The new experiences include helmet diving tours; glass bottom sea kayaking tours; sunset and whale watching catamaran tours; a mobile café; and catch-and-cook seafood experiences.
Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said it was great to see a new approach to activities on the island.
“By welcoming new private operators who are offering fantastic, innovative experiences, Rottnest Island will attract more visitors because there is more to do, which will also encourage visitors to stay longer,” he said.
“These new operators will be partnering with accommodation and ferry companies to put together packages to promote to potential visitors from around the world.”
Tourism Council WA has been actively driving forward new tourism experiences for Perth, working with a number of the new Rottnest Island operators to secure approvals for their activities.
“We are delighted to see a number of the tourism businesses we have been working with securing approvals to operate on Rottnest Island.”
