Ultimate luxury hotel to put Destination Perth on the tourist map
26 March 2014
Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall has warmly welcomed the announcement that a new five star Ritz-Carlton will be developed at Elizabeth Quay in Perth. This new hotel development is a critical step forward for the Destination Perth tourism plan launched by Tourism Council WA this week.
Destination Perth is a landmark tourism strategy to double Perth’s visitor economy to $7.1 billion p.a. and create 11,000 new jobs by 2020 which identified that Perth needs 1,900 new rooms.
“This new 240 room hotel development represents a significant investment in Western Australia’s growing tourism industry” said Mr Hall.
This development will mean that Perth has the only Ritz-Carlton hotel in Australia.
“The Ritz-Carlton brand is recognised around the world as the ultimate in luxury accommodation” said Mr Hall.
“Perth will join the ranks of New York, London and Beijing with this world-class hotel brand” said Mr Hall.
“The Ritz Carlton brand is well recognised by Chinese visitors and the new hotel will tap into this growing market” said Mr Hall.
“The planned hotel developments at Crown Perth, FESA House and now the Ritz Carlton on Elizabeth Quay will go a long way to meeting Perth’s hotel needs” said Mr Hall.
“The new Ritz-Carlton Hotel will create hundreds of jobs in the hotel and surrounding hospitality and retail outlets” said Mr Hall.
“Perth still has one of the highest hotel occupancy rates in the world” said Mr Hall “and this new hotel will add much needed rooms for business and leisure tourists” said Mr Hall.
