FACET Golden Guide AwardSponsored by Parks & Wildlife Service
Scott entered the Kimberley's tourism industry pretty young, having been influenced by his neighbour Malcolm Douglas 'the croc hunter' and also with the assistance of his family who ran a tour booking desk in Chinatown, Broome.
His first tour guiding job was at 16 driving for Sea- Air. For the next decade, he worked in a variety of tourism roles around the Kimberley, both on land and at sea. He was then employed as a trainee guide at Faraway Bay. Whilst working with Bruce Ellison he was encouraged to start his own remote touring company which is now known as Kimberley Spirit Tours. Scott works regularly with visiting TV shows such as BBC Live, Sunrise and various other media outlets as a passionate expert on the Kimberley region. He has recently been sponsored by Ironman 4x4. With a collection of Scott’s photos and knowledge from the past 17 years as a tour guide, he is now writing a Lonely Planet style of guidebook about the Kimberley. Most recently Scott filmed a production with Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins (Australia's TV 'Bachelor') where he acted as Nick’s tour guide, driving him around the Kimberley, showing him the sights and introducing him to other tourism operators - sharing stories around campfires etc. This will be released later this year or in 2019.
